Taylor Croonquist is the co-founder of Nuts & Bolts Speed Training, a PowerPoint speed training website that gets busy professionals to Happy Hour. Prior to Nuts & Bolts, Taylor lived and worked in China for 10 years in finance and consulting. When he’s not busy crafting PowerPoint training, you can find him traveling and scuba diving.

In this conversation, Taylor talks about his sessions at the upcoming Presentation Summit 2020, being held virtually this year from August 10 to 13, 2020.

Geetesh: Taylor, you are delivering two sessions at this year’s virtual Presentation Summit: Faster! and Shortcuts and Speed Hacks. Tell us more about these sessions beyond the descriptions, and what attendees will learn?

Taylor: Both of my sessions at the summit are geared for improving your speed in PowerPoint.

In Faster!, we’ll look at clever combinations of commands and features to pull off seemingly impossible PowerPoint tasks in just a few minutes. This allows you to create more professional slides for your clients and colleagues without breaking your back.

It took me years to figure all of these out and I’ll share some of my best ones during Faster!

In Shortcuts and Speed Hacks, I’ll show PC users how they can speed up anything and EVERYTHING they do in PowerPoint using keyboard shortcuts.

In this session, I’ll not only reveal the four different types of PowerPoint shortcuts you need to know about to do this, but I’ll also walk attendees through Microsoft’s newest shortcut system and how to squeeze the most juice out of it.

Geetesh: You continuously update learning tricks about PowerPoint based on newer features released and newer findings. What motivates you to do so? Also, do you provide resources to learn more?

Taylor: As a heavy PowerPoint user myself, I’m always looking for new and better ways to do things in PowerPoint. As such, I consider myself to be one of the biggest PowerPoint geeks around and I love learning new tips and tricks.

On top of that, since I started teaching PowerPoint speed training courses six years ago, I have had the chance to see all sorts of vexing PowerPoint problems that professionals struggle with. So, it’s helping people solve their most vexing issues that keeps me motivated to keep dreaming up new creative ways to get things done faster.

The best place to check out my latest PowerPoint tips and tricks is on my website, Nuts & Bolts Speed Training, where we publish PowerPoint articles and sell PowerPoint speed training courses for busy professionals.
