      On a mission to make everyone proficient in Excel, Deb Ashby enthusiastically teaches Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other M365 Apps to businesses and individuals. Since launching her company in 2019, predominantly focusing on creating and designing online Microsoft courses, she launched her brand, Cellmates in September 2022. In 2023 Deb was awarded the Microsoft MVP for her contributions to the community.

In this conversation, Deb talks about her new Copilot for Microsoft 365 course on GoSkills.

Geetesh: Deb, Copilot for Microsoft 365 offers many options for many people. How do you help users understand these differences in your new GoSkills course on Copilot for Microsoft 365?

Deb: That’s a great question as there are several versions of Copilot available currently. Our Copilot course predominantly focuses on Copilot for Microsoft 365 applications. This is the version of Copilot that is accessible from within the Microsoft Office applications.

Copilot for Microsoft 365 serves as a handy AI-assistant in Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, OneNote and Microsoft Loop.

Aside from Copilot for Microsoft 365, we also have Copilot for Bing and Copilot Pro. Copilot for Bing is the free version of Copilot, accessible via a web browser much like Chat GPT. Copilot Pro is a supercharged version of Copilot offering GPT-Turbo and priority prompt results.

The introduction section of the course covers an overview of each and provides useful information as to which version would be most appropriate for you and your organisation.

Geetesh: How do you suggest viewers approach your video course? Is it better to watch the videos sequentially, or is it okay for viewers to jump straight to the topics they need assistance with?

Deb: The course is best worked through sequentially as it’s important to understand the concept of Copilot and the different versions prior to commencing the course.

Each section is broken down into logical lessons. We start at the beginning by setting ourselves up for success and completing the prerequisite tasks to use Copilot. We then start working with Copilot within Excel. Each lesson builds on the previous lesson and the course files support this structure.

However, if you want to jump straight to the PowerPoint section and work through those lessons, that is fine. The course is structured in such a way that you can pick up easily from where you left off in the previous lesson.
