    With a background in cognitive psychology and studio art, Johanna Kneifel is all about design and technology that make a social impact. She’s primarily interested in exploring how visual design affects personal perception, and how this can be applied to educational or marketing strategies. Alongside managing amazing design projects at INSCALE, she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.

In this conversation, Johanna talks about the Presentation Summit, being held in San Antonio, TX this year from October 6 to 9, 2019.

Geetesh: Tell us more about INSCALE. Also, what brings you to the Presentation Summit this year in San Antonio?

Johanna: INSCALE is an international presentation agency that focuses on interactive presentation design. We’ve been creating presentations and coaching speakers since 2013, and it’s great to see how presentations and design have evolved since then.

Being at the Presentation Summit is always a great chance to network, meet interesting people and gain incredible insight on how other experts are finding solutions and driving the presentation industry forward.

Geetesh: Please share your thoughts about current presentation trends. What directions is the industry taking, and how do you folks at INSCALE manage to be ahead with ideas?

Johanna: We are always looking for new and effective ways to engage audiences. Our favorite methods include designing fully interactive presentations through which the audience can dictate the flow and pace of the presentation. This can be achieved by setting up navigational hotspots within your presentation or using new technologies like augmented reality to give your audience more agency over the information you’re sharing. Though the conclusion and key message are determined by the presenter, the audience can decide how they arrive there.
