Geetesh: Chantal, you deliver the Hidden Gems for Virtual Presenters session at this year’s Presentation Summit. How will your session help presenters make their virtual delivery feel more interactive and less one-way?
Chantal: My session is designed to help presenters find new ways to increase engagement during virtual presentations even if we know distractions are part of the game. By showcasing lesser known but powerful tools available in PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams, I aim to equip presenters with practical techniques that foster real-time interaction and audience engagement.
One of the ways the session will help is through live demonstrations of features like PowerPoint Live and subtitle settings, which not only enhance accessibility but also invite the audience into a more inclusive experience. These tools allow presenters to tailor their delivery to diverse audiences, making the session feel more personal and responsive.
We’ll also explore interactive polls in Teams, which are fantastic for gathering instant feedback and sparking conversation. When participants see their input reflected in the presentation, it transforms the dynamic from passive viewing to active participation. Add to that the use of Whiteboard for collaborative brainstorming, and you’ve got a recipe for sessions that feel more like a dialogue than a monologue.
Finally, we’ll touch on avatars and immersive spaces, which open up creative possibilities for presenters to build more engaging and visually rich environments when suitable for their topic. These features can help presenters stand out and create memorable experiences that go beyond the typical slide deck.
Whether you’re a seasoned presenter or just starting out, this session will provide actionable insights and tools to make your virtual delivery more interactive, inclusive, and impactful.
Geetesh: What keeps you passionate about helping people improve their presentation skills—especially in the virtual space?
Chantal: Helping people improve their presentation skills—especially in the virtual space—is more than a professional mission for me; it’s a personal passion rooted in empathy and empowerment. I’ve seen firsthand how virtual environments can make presenters, including myself, feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to truly connect with their audience. That’s why I’m committed to demystifying the tools and techniques that can transform virtual delivery from a one-way broadcast into a dynamic, engaging experience.
What keeps me passionate is the moment when someone realizes they don’t need expensive gear or complex setups to make a meaningful impact. I love showing presenters how small adjustments can lead to big improvements. These “hidden gems” aren’t just features—they’re bridges to better communication, stronger engagement, and more confident delivery.
I also believe that virtual presenting demands a unique set of skills. It’s even more demanding than live presentations because it’s not just about knowing your content—it’s about managing technology, reading subtle cues, and adapting in real time. Through my book, courses and coaching, I help presenters build these skills step by step, encouraging them to experiment, reflect, and grow. As I often say: you don’t need to change everything at once. Just pick a few things to improve and build from there. That mindset—of continuous learning and incremental progress—is what fuels my work and keeps me excited to help others shine in the virtual spotlight.
Geetesh: Before we wrap up, can you tell us a bit about your company, CHABOS, and how your work there supports the kind of presentation skills you’re sharing in this session?
Chantal: CHABOS is the professional home I’ve built to reflect my dual passions: empowering presenters and crafting meaningful presentations and learning experiences. As a training and consulting company, we specialize in helping individuals and organizations elevate their communication through better presentation design, delivery, and storytelling.
Through CHABOS, I offer hands-on workshops, coaching, and consulting services that blend technical expertise with a deep understanding of audience engagement. Whether live or in virtual settings, my goal is always the same: to make virtual communication feel more human, more interactive, and more impactful.
The work I do directly supports the kind of skills I’ll be sharing in my Presentation Summit session. It’s where I test new tools, refine best practices, and help presenters overcome the very challenges we’ll be discussing. It’s also the platform through which I share my book, LinkedIn Learning courses, and other resources—making sure that presenters at every level have access to the guidance they need to grow.
Ultimately, CHABOS is more than a company—it’s a creative space where I get to help others shine, one step and one story at a time.
