Geetesh: Steve, can you tell us more about Panasonic Connect’s imaging and visual systems portfolio? What products and technologies does this encompass, and how does this nurture development within the AV ecosystem?

Stephen: Perhaps stating the obvious, visual acquisition and distribution technology as a means for communication has exploded, particularly since the start of the COVID pandemic. Long past are the days of video being used simply for broadcast purposes such as movies, TV shows, and sporting events. Panasonic Connect recognized this explosion many years ago and has been at the forefront of advances in this medium; having won a number of Technical Emmy’s.

As an example, Panasonic Connect manufactures robotic cameras where a single person can control multiple cameras at a completely different location than that of the cameras. Another example is projectors that aren’t simply used for classroom/boardroom work or for a church’s sanctuary or a concert’s stage, but also for creating immersive experiences where attendees not just see the images on one wall but all walls and feel the images at an emotional level.

From a portfolio perspective, Panasonic Connect becomes the solution provider for the main infrastructure elements to accomplish whatever visual communication is desired. Effectively this encompasses a variety of camera, control, switching, distributing, displaying, & projection products to acquire and move these images. All within complex 4K, HD, & IT/IP infrastructures. All with capabilities to address many vertical markets using video systems such as the aforementioned broadcast, worship, and sports but also education, enterprise, government, and many developing vertical markets.

Geetesh: What brings Panasonic to the Presentation Summit in San Diego this October? Also, what will you be showcasing for presentation professionals here?

Stephen: Panasonic’s customers and audience are vast but we’re focused on the commercial/B2B market where many of our tools are being used to great effect. We look at those creating and providing presentations, as a key Panasonic customer/partner. Looking at all the vertical markets Panasonic Connect addresses, you’ll see there isn’t one that doesn’t have presentation needs and doesn’t also need to incorporate visual tools as part of their presentations. We look forward to not only showcasing what we can do for this audience but listen to their ideas of how we can help them better. At the Summit itself, we’ll be showcasing:

  • PT-RZ16KU – 16,000 lumen projector
  • PT-RZ12KU – 12,000 lumen projector
  • AW-UE40KPJY – PTZ Camera
  • AW-RP60GJY- Remote Camera Controller

Geetesh: How do you look at Panasonic’s role in today’s presentation industry, and how do you visualize future use of your visual solutions?

Stephen: As mentioned earlier concerning the explosion of the visual medium and Panasonic’s industry-leading role in it, it’s important to highlight that video is a presentation tool. Effectively another arrow in the presentation quiver. The wonderful thing about the advancements of IT/IP in the broader scope of all technology is that there are great synergies with these tools. No longer does one presentation element stand alone from another. All can interface with each other whether it be video images, PowerPoint slide decks, streaming platforms, or simply audio microphones.

This then gives great flexibility and creativity to those developing presentations. Panasonic Connect pays great attention to the developing needs of those creating content. As an example, Panasonic Connect was one of the first manufacturers to create auto-tracking cameras. As we look towards the future, we see more use of intelligent IT/IP tools to advance the way people communicate. We welcome the “voice of the customer” to identify further needs and then create technological tools to, in the words of our Panasonic founder, contribute to society.
