Anand R Krishnan is a presentation expert and the founder of SlideKit, a Google Slides add-on and SlideBazaar, a presentation design agency. After his post-graduation in fine arts, he started off his career as a visual designer, creating presentations for in-house teams. He founded SlideKit and SlideBazaar when he realized there was a demand for modern, high-quality presentation designs and custom slides.

In this conversation, Anand discusses SlideKit.

Geetesh: Anand, can you tell us more about your SlideKit offerings for Google Slides users? Also, do tell us about how these templates are available within Google Slides.

Anand: SlideKit is a Google Slides add-on that helps you translate your ideas into beautiful, professional slides. It lets users import templates into their presentations from a popup window directly inside Google Slides. You can search for templates and add them to your presentation with just one click. These templates can be edited and customized easily.

It’s easy to get started with SlideKit. When you have Google Slides open, click on Extensions, Add-ons, and then on Get add-ons.

Once the Google Workspace Marketplace window appears, search for SlideKit Templates and install the add-on.
Once the installation is completed, you will now be able to access SlideKit within Google Slides. Click on Extensions and choose SlideKit Templates from the dropdown menu.

This opens a panel on the right side of the screen. You can browse through the free templates or use the search bar to find what you need. A subscription to SlideKit gives you access to thousands of templates for Google Slides, all of which are accessible right next to the slide you’re working on.

We’ve summed up what SlideKit is in this short video. Have a look:

What is Slidekit?

Geetesh: Unlike other template offerings for Google Slides users, which are mainly PowerPoint templates resaved for Google Slides, you have recreated your content from the ground up, and have also made it available seamlessly within Google Slides through the SlideKit add-on. What motivated you to make this option so enhanced and complete? Also, can you share some user feedback?

Anand: We’re looking to create a seamless experience for users working on Google Slides. The add-on lets users import templates and create beautiful slides without ever having to leave Google Slides. You can create stunning presentations in the shortest possible time, with absolutely nothing distracting you from your workflow.

Usually, while working on Google Slides, people tend to use templates designed for PowerPoint. But using templates that were created for PowerPoint on Google Slides might cause problems for the user. There will be issues in the template design, the layout could be different, and the fonts might not be the same. You will then have to spend time making the template look good.

All templates on SlideKit are created exclusively for Google Slides.

Let’s look at another scenario. Someone who’s creating a presentation on Google Slides may sometimes have to visit other websites or templates. Or, if they need a single process chart or a timeline, they might have to select it from a slide deck that may have 20-40 slides. This could affect their workflow, and they may end up wasting a lot of time. But with the SlideKit addon, you can find exactly what you need and insert it into the presentation with just a click of a button without ever leaving Google Slides.

We’ve received a ton of positive feedback from people who have used SlideKit. Users find the templates useful and are happy with the add-on. Here are some of the reviews we’ve received:
